SPA 2 day Core & Quarry Sector Day
Course Objectives
The course is designed for managers and employees of contractors to provide basic safety training prior to entering premisis operating the 'Passport of Safety' scheme. 1 day of basic training (Core Day) is followed up by 1 day of sector-specific training (Mineral & Extraction Industry).
Intended For
All persons who are required to enter a site operating the Safety Passport scheme. Candidates already possessing the CCNSG Safety Passport only have to complete the Sector-Specific Day.
Course Content - Core Day
- Introduction to health and safety law and work permits
- Workplace safety
- Fire precautions and procedures
- Accidents and First Aid procedures
- Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) & Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Safe manual handling
- Noise at Work Regulations and the prevention of noise induced hearing loss.
Course Content - Sector Specific Day (Mineral & Extraction)
- Health and safety management of Quarries
- Safe Working - cranes and heavy lifting equipment
- Safe Working - excavations and confined spaces
- Working at heights
